U.S. Singer Joe Davy Dies with Coronavirus

Grammy-winning country singer Joe Davy has died of the new Coronavirus at the age of 61.

Davy's death was announced on his Facebook page in a post stating that he died on Sunday "from complications from the Coronavirus."

His death came just two days after he declared that he was HIV-positive and was receiving medical attention.

"My family and I are asking for respect for privacy at this time," he said at the time. "We want to remind the public and all lovers to be careful during the outbreak of this epidemic."

Davy, from Oklahoma, released a large number of successful songs during the 1990s, most notably "Pick Up Man," "Prop Me Up By the Side of the Go box" and "John Deere Green."

He released his first album E Thousand Wind Winding Roads in 1990 and included his famous song "Home".

The Coronavirus has infected about 137,000 people in the United States and killed 2,400 people so far.
