President Donald Trump has warned that the United States will have two 'very, very painful' weeks in the fight against the new Coronavirus, which continues to claim increasing numbers of victims in his country and the world.

"It's going to be very painful, we're going to have two very, very painful weeks," Trump said during his daily White House press conference on the developments of combating the Coved-19 epidemic.

Trump called the Coved-19 pandemic a 'scourge', saying, I want every American to be ready for the tough days ahead.

On Monday, The President announced that April would be crucial in the fight against the coronavirus.

He said: 'It's a vital 30 days. We'll do everything during these 30 days.'

He added that he was thinking of requiring all Americans to wear muzzles 'for a while - not forever'.

The remarks come at a time when the United States is witnessing an acceleration in the epidemic, with more than 160,000 people infected, of whom about 3,000 have died.

On Sunday, Trump announced the extension of social spacing measures to curb the new Corona outbreak until the end of April.
